Week 3 Thursday #3 - Asset Creation
Hi there lovely folks! I’m actually publishing this from the future, 2 weeks since week 3. But thanks for following our progress regardless!
Direction
Due to our lack of 3D modellers on our team, we have decided to opt for a 2.5D playing experience, where some aspects are in 2D, others in 3D, and still others with 2D sprites in a 3D environment.
What We’re Working On
- implemented screen shake and dialogue systems
- started extending the singleplayer controls to 2-player controls
- started discussing lore (story)
- started analysing rock music in games for the official soundtrack (OST)
- started putting a moodboard together on milanote for how the game should look and feel
- made many assets for the game like this robot body in the battle scene
Behind the Scenes
Our free trial of our project-management system on Monday.com ran out so Joash is moving it to Notion. Thanks Joash! We may need alpha testers in a few weeks, so if you’re interested, do reach out to us in the comments!
Release information
This will be a computer game, for both PCs and laptops, for both Windows and Apple.
We are planning to release the game here on itch.io and on Steam! We’re still learning how to do both, so stay tuned! We hope to finish the game in time for the Steam Winter Sale, which is on 21 December 2023 — 4 January 2024!
